Real easy, does contain some sugar & fruit, edit as you like, the other ratios and steps still apply. These ingredients are for one large loaf. This one comes out great, dry and sweet best served warm with butter. Worst part is mixing the dough, so dry & thick it takes some serious muscle or a quality instrument. Enjoy rave reviews every drinkin' holiday. Recipe from a legit Irish uncle.

  • 2 tablespoon Melted Butter
  • 3 cups Flour
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 ½ cup Buttermilk
  • Optional: Caraway Seeds & Raisins to taste (I use few raisins & lots of caraway, highly recommend using the seeds)

Preheat oven to 350.

Mix all dry stuff.

Put melted butter into buttermilk.

Pour over dry mix, mix up good.

Grease up a pan good.

Pour the batter, don't worry about smooth, the ridged browned crust is part of the charm.

Bake at 350 for ~45 min.

Check with toothpick, when it comes out clean, it’s done.
