Recipe by Lets Make Fudge Uploaded by Drimble Wedge
- 3 qts ground popcorn
- 1-1/8c molasses
- 1/2c + 1T sugar
- 1/2t salt
- 1T unsalted butter
Combine molasses, sugar, salt & butter in medium saucepan. Bring to a boil & cook without further stirring until it reaches soft ball stage (235 to 240 degrees). Pour over popcorn. Mix well. Press into greased pan (about 11x15"), mark in squares. Cool.
I prefer to pop the popcorn on the stove and grind it (not too fine) with a kitchenaid attachment. Since not many people in my family like molasses, I usually get most of the pan to myself.
