Olive oil in pasta water???
Big no-no. The oil does not aid in preventing pasta from sticking. It floats on the surface, and does nothing but cling to the outside of the pasta when you remove it from the boiling water, preventing sauce/pasta clingage. To prevent sticking, immediately after you add the pasta to the boiling water (yes it is necessary), stir. Don't stop stirring until you get a boil again.
