Summary

Crab Stuffed Mushrooms w/ bonus mom conversation by shakerpenguin

Since this was a recipe I had never made before, I thought "hay, that would be fun to post on GBS!". Now, I'm a fully grown adult and all, but SA isn't something I go around telling my mommy about. "I saw the funniest Futurama porn, mom!" No. But, she was going to be around when I was taking photos, so I decided I had to tell her that there's this forum where we post recipes with step by step photos. "That sounds cool, show me some day." Ahhh, I don't think it's a forum you'd really uhm, enjoy, mom. "Whhhhy? Is it stuff I wouldn't want to know my daughter is looking at??" Ah, no....well, yes mom. She promptly didn't mention it again.

Anywhoo, on to the fucking recipe!

Ingredients

You'll Need:

  • Mushrooms (duh)
  • Either canned crab, the Real stuff, or the fake stuff. I have a combo of the canned and the fake, not exactly my choice, though.
  • Mayo
  • Bread Crumbs
  • Parmesan
  • Parsley
  • Chives
  • Ground Mustard
  • Horseradish
  • Scallions
  • Lemon or lime juice
  • Butter

Preparation

If you're using fake crab, roughly chop it up. Chop about 3 of the scallions, maybe 2 table spoons of chives, and a good handful of parsley. Add all that to a bowl along with enough mayo to moisten everything, and a good tablespoon of horseradish. Sprinkle on about a teaspoon of ground mustard, then add a half cup of parmesan and enough bread crumbs to make it dense. Mine looked like this:

Preheat your oven to about 350.

Now, you're going to want to wash your mushrooms. Just use a damp cloth or paper towel to wipe them, and remove the stems. Place them on a baking sheet and brush them with a little melted butter.

Mound the filling into those bad boys. I made lots of stuffing, so mine is thoroughly mounded. Sprinkle the tops with move chives and parmesan.

Pop those babies in the oven. Mine took about 15 minutes, because those fuckers were HUGE. Regular size mushrooms will prolly only take about 5-8 minutes. You can turn the broiler on at the end to brown the top off too. Result: YUM
