Ingredients
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 white sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 5 tsbp unsalted butter
- 2/3 cup cold water
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp salt
Method
In a large glass bowl, melt butter in a microwave. Add egg, molasses, sugar and water. Mix well.
In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, salt and ground ginger.
Mix well and combine molasses mixture. Mix well again.
Pour batter (it will be thin) into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350F for approximately 30 minutes, or until it tests done.
