Summary
People who know me know I'm a big fan of beef. I've documented a few beef recipes in the past, and my last one was meatloaf. Today it's a Salisbury style steak with a nice mushroom gravy.
IT'S A FUCKING BEEF EXTRAVAGANZA!
System Requirements
- 1.25 lbs Ground Sirloin
- Mushrooms
- White Onion
- Olive Oil
- Beef Broth
- Worcestershire Sauce
- Sea Salt
- Freshly Ground Black Pepper
- Flour
- Garlic
Preparation
Take a quarter of your white onion, and chop it up really good.
Take your delicious ground-up cow and toss it into a bowl. Don't worry about breaking it up just yet.
Throw your onions on top, along with healthy doses of sea salt and black pepper, and about 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire Sauce.
If you've touched anything questionable recently (or if you've touched yourself), now's the time to wash your hands because you're about to get them dirty again. Just like with the meatloaf, mix it all up using your hands.
While you have a pan containing about 3 tablespoons of olive oil and one clove of chopped garlic heating up...
...make one-inch thick oval patties out of your meat.
When your pan is hot, toss in your meat.
Cook that sucker for about 6 minutes per side.
While your meat is cooking, rinse out your bowl you used earlier and toss your mushrooms in. Sprinkle with sea salt and black pepper.
After your steak is done, keep it warm and put it aside. Take your pan you just used, and toss in another tablespoon of olive oil and a bit of butter.
Heat it, and throw in your mushrooms.
Sautée until tender.
When your mushrooms are ready, pour in a can of beef broth.
Simmer that mixture for a few minutes (scraping the bits up from the bottom of the pan), then add about two tablespoons of flour. Mix it up, and let it thicken for one to two minutes.
Get your steak, toss it on a plate and spoon some sauce over top. Serve with a baked potato or some bullshit like that. Feel free to put the gravy on your potato if you're into that sort of thing.
Enjoy your home-cooked meal.
