I'll say right up front that this didn't come out like I was hoping, but what the hell.
Ingredients:
Butternut Squash
1 Onion
Sausage
Hot Sauce
Saffron
Bismati Rice
Bisect the squash and put it in the oven (35 min. at 400 deg). Chop the onion and mix with the hot sauce
Skin the sausage
and brown
then mix with the onion
Take the squash from the oven
mix with the other stuff, simmer for a while, and remove from heat
Now take spring roll sheets, bisect
put a spoonful of mixture in the middle
fold over the perpindicular bisector of the hypotenuse
and seal the edges (I just used water).
Once you have a bunch (floured because there was a lot of moisture in the area)
fry them up.
Prepare a plateful of saffron rice (I used the steamer in the first pic)
and plate
This could feed a whole bunch of people. I didn't use most of the mix, but I'll probably reheat it next week and eat with tortillas or something.
