The plan was to mail jam to all the old college friends and distant relatives, who normally wouldn't get christmas presents. The problem was, when we sat down to list all folk, we came up with 55.
Materials
We bought our jars from http://www.specialtybottle.com
And a bag of sugar as big as our dog. We eventually went through more than 2 of these. Over 60 lbs of sugar!
And 10 lbs of pectin! This was probably overkill, but at least now we have pectin for life! Or at least next year...
Our small jars fit through the big holes in our canning rack, so I rigged an extra rung with a coat hanger. I'm just like McGyver.
