Part of Lawen's entry into Iron Chef SA 028:Balsamic Battle
I had a bunch of strawberries left from the salad, so I threw this together to use them. If you want to be Mr. Fancypants you can make your own angel food cake.
- 2 pints strawberries
 - 4 Tbsp. sugar
 - 3 Tbsp. balsamic
 - 1 pint Heavy cream
 - 1/3 cup Port wine or sherry
 - Store bought angel food cake or pound cake

(I didn't bother taking in-progress pictures since there's not really any technique involved.)
1. Clean, trim, and slice the strawberries. In a bowl, combine strawberries, balsamic, and 2 Tbsp. sugar. Toss to combine. Cover and refrigerate for an hour or more. 2. Combine cream, port, and remaining 2 Tbsp sugar. Whip cream in stand mixer. 3. Cut cake into thin slices. 4. Put strawberries in glass, add a dollop of whipped cream, and cover with a slice of cake. Repeat layers until full. Finish with a drizzle of balsamic.
